The Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter

I am sure that all of my readers have already read the news elsewhere, so I am not going to go into a long explanation of things and repeat what others have already said. I am not a reporter, and this is not a news page; it is a personal blog. The Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter is established in the US with Fr. Jeffrey Steenson as the Ordinary. Go here for more information (and give thanks to our Lord Jesus while you do). I am overjoyed and praising God, so I ask all of you to praise Him with me.

How are things doing at Saint Aidan's?

Thank you for asking. The laity are about to go through their catechesis that will prepare them for being received. I myself am close to being received as a layman in the Church so that I can become a candidate for holy orders. Please keep all of us in your prayers.

Prayed for y'all at Mass this morning. Hope everything moves along quickly in the Lord's timing.
Btw there seems to be a fair amount of Anglican grumbling about how they want things. Is this common?

"Anneg",

Thank you so much for your prayers--they are greatly needed and appreciated.

I am sorry to say that the "grumbling" you speak of is fairly common, and I lament it. I would not say it is a majority, but those who behave like this are vocal and therefore hard to ignore.

One of the aspects of the Anglican Patrimony that must not be preserved is that Protestant spirit of "my way, or else". I pray every day that God will save us from ourselves (as Pogo said: "we have met the enemy and he are us").

For the record: "I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God" than anywhere else. I do not need to have it my way, because I don't trust myself that much! I am thankful for my Anglican traditions and want to keep them, but I would give up every one of them if they kept me from loving Jesus and His people.

I'll keep praying, Fr. It has been so long since I was Anglican I really don't remember some things. There is real interest in some parts of the Catholic Church, especially those parts that take faith in practice seriously. Otherwise, many Catholics are totally unaware what's so important to y'all and to the health of the Church.
Please remember as y'all prepare for full communion that the Catholic Church is "Here comes everybody."
